Log Canoe Races Pt. 2

February 23, 2017  •  Leave a Comment

Here are a few more shots I took during the Log Canoe races on the Miles river at St. Michaels, MD. For any of you who may have missed my first post on the Log Canoe races -  Log canoes were originally used for oystering the Chesapeake Bay until being replaced by the bugeye and the skipjacks. The log canoes remaining in service and racing today are beautiful vessels and the race is a great photo opportunity. If you haven't had the opportunity to see a log canoe race up close it is worth a trip to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and board one of their boats to go out in the river and watch the racing. You will need to make reservations weeks in advance, but it is worth it. Please enjoy just a few of the shots I took the day I went.

Please share this post with your family & friends and be sure to subscribe to my blog so you won't miss a post. Thanks for all your support and keep looking, "Thru My Lens".
