Photo Walk: Pocomoke City, MD
Pocomoke City, MD, "The Friendliest Town on The Eastern Shore" is located on the banks of the Pocomoke River in Western Worcester County at the intersection of US 13 and US 113. The town was founded in the early 1700's as a small settlement called Stevens Landing, or sometimes called Stevens Ferry. The town was incorporated as Newtown in 1865 and then reincorporated as Pocomoke City in 1878. If you drive through the town on US 13 you will see a couple of shopping centers with some national chain stores and restaurants, but you will miss the charm of Market Street and friendly atmosphere of Downtown Pocomoke City. Here are just a few of the shots I captured during my photo walk.
