Color or Black and White

Sometimes converting a shot to a B&W brings out a whole new photograph over the color version. There are several programs that will enable you to convert a color photo to a B&W with just one click of the button. Both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements have the feature, or you can use plugins such as the Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 for your conversion. Using this plug-in program will give you greater control over the conversion. One nice thing about the Nik software package, it is FREE from Google, but only works with Photoshop, Photoshop Elements and Lightroom. The shots here are of the skipjack Ida May in the boat yard for upkeep. I included the original color photo for comparison.
