Photo Walk: Deal Island
With the Deal Island skipjack races about one month away, I decided to head out to Scott's Cove and checkout the boat yard to see which skipjacks were there receiving their annual preps for the race. On this visit I met up with skipjack Captain, Harold "Stoney" Whitlock and his newest resurrected skipjack "Minnie V". Stoney had bought Minnie V from the city of Baltimore and brought it to Scott's Cove for repairs and upkeep. The Minnie V is now back in the water going through its finishing touches before the race on Labor Day, which will be Stoney's 58th year of racing. Please share this post with your family & friends and be sure to subscribe to my blog so you won't miss a post. Thanks for all your support and keep looking, "Thru My Lens".

I was captain of Minnie v years ago when it was in DC. I am tickled to here that Capt Whitlock has her now. She took 3 in the skipjack race when I was in my 1st Deal Island race. The same year the Kathryn started taking on water and Stoney grounder her to keep her from sinking.
